What a Hoarding Cleanup Involves

Hoarding cleanup differs from a standard cleanout in a few important ways:

Our Approach

We work at a pace that fits the situation. For some hoarding cleanups, the occupant or family members want to go through items before removal — we work around that process. For situations where the property needs to be fully cleared as quickly as possible (e.g., landlord situation, health and safety concern), we work systematically and efficiently.

Our crew does not comment, judge, or discuss the contents of the property with neighbors or bystanders. What happens inside the property stays inside the property.

Working with Family Members and Caregivers

Hoarding cleanup is often initiated by a family member, social worker, or caregiver rather than the occupant directly. We're comfortable working with a family-appointed point of contact and can coordinate access, timing, and scope with whoever is managing the situation on the occupant's behalf.

If a professional organizer or social worker is also involved, we can coordinate our role with theirs — we do the physical hauling while they manage the sorting process.

What We Take in a Hoarding Cleanup

We take all non-hazardous contents: furniture, clothing, boxes, newspapers and magazines, kitchen items, electronics, appliances, food containers (empty), and general household accumulation. Items in reasonable condition are sorted for donation. As always, we cannot take hazardous materials — chemicals, wet paint, medications, biological waste.

Hoarding Cleanup Pricing

Hoarding cleanups are typically multi-load jobs. We quote after a walk-through of the property or on the basis of photos/description if an advance estimate is helpful. Full-truck loads ($719) are common, and multiple loads are often needed for severe situations. We quote the full scope before starting so there are no surprises.
