Construction Debris Removal in Metro Vancouver

We haul away renovation and construction debris so contractors and homeowners can get back to work without waiting for a bin rental.

Renovation projects generate significant volumes of debris that bin rentals can't always handle efficiently — especially in tight residential sites, condo buildings, or jobs where debris accumulates over time. SturdyBee removes construction and renovation debris from residential DIY projects and contractor job sites across Metro Vancouver, with scheduling that fits around your work timeline.

What Construction Debris We Remove

We haul away material left over from renovation and construction work, including:

  • Drywall and plaster (specialty surcharge applies — see below)
  • Lumber, framing timber, OSB, and plywood
  • Flooring — hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, carpet
  • Cabinets, countertops, and kitchen/bathroom fixtures
  • Windows and doors (glass handled carefully)
  • Roofing material — shingles, flashing, underlayment
  • Insulation (non-asbestos only — see below)
  • Concrete rubble in manageable pieces
  • Brick and masonry
  • General renovation garbage and packaging
  • Old fixtures, pipes (non-lead), and hardware

Drywall and Plaster — Surcharge Applies

Drywall and gypsum products require disposal at a dedicated C&D (construction and demolition) recycling facility separate from general waste. This incurs higher tipping fees, which we pass on as a per-load surcharge on top of the standard load price. We always disclose the surcharge before loading.

Plaster (from older homes) is handled similarly to drywall unless it contains asbestos — see below.

What We Cannot Take — Hazardous Construction Materials

We cannot take materials that require specialist disposal:

  • Asbestos-containing materials — if you're renovating a home built before 1990, assume any insulation, floor tiles, or drywall compound could contain asbestos until tested. Asbestos abatement must be done by a licensed contractor before we can remove the material.
  • Lead-based paint — paint containing lead (common in homes built before 1980) cannot be treated as regular debris
  • Wet or liquid paint — empty, fully-dried paint cans are fine; liquid paint is not
  • Chemicals, solvents, and adhesives
  • Contaminated soil

Contractor-Ready Scheduling

We work around job site schedules. If you need debris cleared between demo day and framing day, we can often accommodate next-day or same-week scheduling. We don't require a bin rental agreement or a minimum contract — one call, one job.

We're also available to do ongoing pickups during long renovation projects — clear the debris weekly so the site stays workable. Contact us to discuss the scope.

Pricing for Construction Debris

Construction debris is priced by load volume, same as residential jobs. Most post-renovation debris jobs are in the 1/4 to 1/2 load range ($289–$478) for a single-room reno. Larger whole-home renovations or multi-trade projects filling a lot of material often require a full load or more.

A drywall surcharge applies on top of the load price when drywall or gypsum product makes up a significant portion of the load. This is quoted before loading begins.

Residential vs. Commercial Construction Debris

We handle both residential renovation debris (homeowner DIY or contractor work in a home) and commercial construction site cleanup. For larger commercial projects, contact us with the job scope and we'll quote accordingly. Invoice available for contractor expense records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to sort the debris into piles before you arrive?
Not necessarily. We can take a mixed renovation load. However, if drywall is mixed with other material, the drywall surcharge applies to the entire load. Keeping drywall separate (even in a separate pile) can sometimes reduce the surcharge portion.
How do I know if my renovation debris contains asbestos?
If your home was built before 1990, assume it may. Insulation, textured ceiling products (popcorn ceilings), old floor tiles, and joint compound can all contain asbestos. You need a certified asbestos assessor to test and, if positive, a licensed abatement contractor to remove it before we can haul the debris.
Can you remove concrete and masonry from a demolition?
Yes, in manageable quantities. We can remove broken concrete pieces and masonry from small demo projects. Very large volumes of pure concrete (e.g. a full foundation removal) may require a specialized concrete hauler — call us with the specifics.
